Born to perform and with a passion for story telling, Julie's first acting class was at the age of four with Le Théâtre du P'tit Bonheur, now Le Théâtre Français de Toronto. Years later, and a graduate of the joint Acting Programme of Sheridan College and The University of Toronto, Julie's love of theatre has taken her across the country, working in both English and her native French, in theatre, improv, film and television. Her stage credits include the award-winning Ulcers Before Adolescence, Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, Chair Pigs and Dark City Streets. As an improviser, Julie became a member of Bad Dog Theatre's Mainstage Cast less than a year after her first improv class, performing in critically acclaimed shows such as Hairy Patter and the Improviser's Stone, Stars Warz and The Uh-O.C. with some of the country's best improvisers. Julie is also a founding member of The Nearly World Famous Dufflebag Theatre's French Troupe and worked with them for 6 seasons, collectively creating and writing short bilingual plays and performing in over 300 shows annually.
Currently, Julie can be heard as the voice of Miss Carol in Treehouse's My Big Big Friend. Other film and television credits include: Sky of an Archangel, Calvin's Dream, Comedy Night in Canada and Dark Rising: The Series.
Always seeking new challenges, Julie's lifelong passion for animals combined with her loves of traveling and photography spurred on her latest project: a feature-length documentary about elephants used in tourism. As producer, director and writer of Bless The Elephants, Julie aims to expose the rampant abuse and neglect suffered by captive elephants around the world by sharing the stories of a few very special elephants she met while traveling throughout Thailand. "They are much more like us than you'd imagine. And the abuse they suffer so people can ride them is truly horrific."
